Bestselling author, Janice Y.K. Lee asked us to create a new site for her to incorporate her latest book, Expatriates. The result of this collaboration is a site that reflects the color and the excitement of the author and her books, both set in her native Hong Kong. We wanted a visual way to juxtapose her two books which take place in different eras, and took her lead in using period-appropriate maps on the site. The maps pinpoint places that are significant to the stories.
